So, I mentioned in my blog last night that Heather turns 16 in a few short weeks. I've been thinking alot about that lately and last night started to really get excited about the whole month of March and all that I have to look forward to.
My sister "Jude", (short for Judy) is coming in town on March 20th to share in Heather's Birthday/Spring Break trip to Florida. Jude and I will drive Heather and a few of her girl friends to Orlando for 5 days. We'll be making a visit to Disney World, laying by the pool, shopping, you know all the things girl like to do. Jude and I will be going to be early and they will stay up late...hahah!
Jude is also named JuJu to my kids. That name stuck awhile back, I guess when Heather was really young. Jude lived with Dave and I for awhile while she was doing her internship at Matthews Presby and boy do I have some "Heather and JuJu" stories from those years.
I remember Heather following Jude around our small house and constantly inquiring of what JuJu was doing. "JuJu, whatya doin'?" "Oh... why?" and the "whys" would continue until JuJu would gently tell Heather that she had to do something in her room and then she would escape and close the door. Believe me, Jude would listen and answer the "why" question 1000 times before she would escape! Anything that Jude ate for lunch Heather wanted the same thing. Jude and I used to laugh and say "you could have poop on a stick and she would want it too just cause you're having it" and it's true.
But the funniest memory that I have is when Dave told Heather to knock on the bathroom door while Jude was in there and told Heather to ask "Juju, whatya doin?....you pickin' your zits." We still laugh about that one around here. Heather had no idea what she was really asking since she was only about 2.5 years old!!!
While Jude lived with us and even while she had her own apartment before moving to Alaska (OMG, of all places!!!?) Juju has always had a special place in Heather's heart. She loves her Aunt Juju so much and so I think it's so cool that Juju can come and share her birthday trip with us.
Josh came along several years after Juju moved from the area but ya know what?....he hasn't been slighted! Jude is so commited to knowing them and knowing what they're interested in and so he's constantly reminding me lately of how many days until Juju arrives. She arrives on Thurs, March 20th and he knows that she has set Friday aside to spend some special time with him since she'll be gone from there and will fly out of Orlando.
Dave used to use Jude as a wrestling partner. Dave and Heather would be doing "world wrestling federation drama" (he was raising his girly girl huh?) and somehow Jude would end up having to participate...not that she wanted to but before she knew it Dave had her pinned! hahah!
So, as I think about the month ahead and look forward to Jude coming in town I am certain of one thing, I'll have to share her cause our family loves JUJU and they can't wait for her to arrive.
