Josh has recently become very intrigued by caterpillars. His Daddy doesn't love them very much cause they eat the leaves off the trees but Josh thinks they make a nice house pet.
He is yet to name them but he comes straight home from school each day to see how much they've eaten or if they've moved at all in their Vlasic Pickle Jar Condo. He shows everyone that visits his caterpillars and wants to educate them about how they eat, what they eat and appears to believe he has their undivided attention. He's sure they're listening and learning!
Jamil is one of his most recent "students" and Jamil wanted to know how Josh got all the caterpillars into their Vlasic Pickle Jar Condo, so he asked Josh "did you squeeze them all through those little holes?" Josh seemed confused by his question and was quick to correct him and make sure he knew he takes the lid off. Mr. Serious, miniature David! :)
Josh is heading to Camp Thunderbird in Lake Wylie, SC this Wednesday and he's already asked his teacher if he could bring along his caterpillars. Mr. Hayden kindly told him they wouldn't survive the bus ride. Quick thinking Mr. Hayden, we'll take care of the caterpillars here at home.
These are the things I love about blogging because now I have this written down and I'll always have it.

I also had a fascination with caterpillars when I was his age. One year I hatched a beautiful swallowtail butterfly in a similar pickle jar. Go Josh! juju
