Heather and Brianna met back when Heather was in 1st Grade at Hemby Bridge Elementary and Brianna was in 2nd grade. Both of our families moved into our new houses within weeks of each other. Heather and Brianna had an instant connection and friendship. They spent countless hours together and many, many sleepovers in that one year that we were neighbors. Their friendship grew so deep that when Brianna's father was transferred to Aurora, Illinois for his job, these two girls committed to stay friends.
They have done just that...every Summer they have spent (at a minimum) a week together. They have both surprised each other for their Sweet 16th birthdays with the help of us parents.
When Brianna had to move, Heather was in 2nd grade and Brianna was in 3rd - they have been spending a week together every Summer for 9 years now! This year Heather will be a Junior and Brianna is beginning her Senior year. They talk on the phone, text and communicate through myspace consistently so when they visit they have no gaps in their lives events.
This is a friendship that cannot be broken, I believe! Heather and Brianna have truly shown loyalty!
This past week was their summer visit and the Conlin family was heading down to Myrtle Beach for a week (this is where Brianna's Grandfather lives) and they stopped to pick up Heather on their way.
This is what it was like when they saw each other!
